Advanced Crystal Technology has further reduced the size of surface mount crystals by launching their ACT711S at the Electronica Exhibition in Munich. The small outlineACT711S is a surface mount 32.768 KHz crystal offering cost and space saving advantages. New from Advanced Crystal Technologies, the ACT711S has stability to 20ppm and a low frequency temperature coefficient of (-3.5 ±1.0) x 1.0-8/°C, which create a stable reference throughout a wide operating temperature range of – 40 C to +85 C.

Reduced cost, size and weight, combined with high stability and environmental performance make the ACT711S the perfect choice for timing and processing applications including portable equipment for industrial and consumer markets.

Measuring just 7.0 x 1.5 x 1.4 mm, its low height and width are especially attractive for use in personal equipment such as watches, cellular phones and other timing or portable equipment. Aging is 3ppm maximumat 25°C (±3°C) and is offered in two load capacitances. 7.0pF and 12.5pF with an ESR of 65KW.

The ACT711S is suitable for automatic placement from tape and reel, and can be quickly integrated into high volume SMT processes world-wide.
