ACT, leading provider of frequency control solutions, are pleased to announce their new strategic partnership with Esterline, introducing their latest proprietary technology to the European market for the first time.
Esterline recently introduced their new proprietary technology which pushes the boundaries of high precision oscillator technology. These breakthrough products set new standards for Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillators (TCXOs) and Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators (OCXOs), bringing new levels of performance to market.
Using M-SAC (Multidimensional Segmented Array Compensation) and secondary compensation techniques, Esterline are able to improve TCXO performance to OCXO levels. Customised with Esterline's technology, a TCXO's stability can be improved from ±1.000ppm (±1000 ppb) to ±0.0088 ppm (8.8 ppb), a compensation factor of 114 to 1, over an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C with less than 100 mW power consumption. This is the first time this level of performance has been available from a TCXO.
Esterline have also pushed the boundaries of OCXO technology, with a single oven OCXO offering the performance levels of a double oven OCXO, reducing both power consumption and PCB footprint. Esterline's customised OCXOs can improve stability from ±10.00ppb to ±0.27ppb over an operating temperature range of -55°C to 85°C, whilst still offering ultra low phase noise. With this level of performance, OCXOs can now be used in demanding applications, such as harsh environments, those reliant on battery power, networking timing and synchronisation.
Martin Kemp, General Manager, ACT commented, "Today marks an important milestone in the ACT story. The partnership with Esterline is an exciting opportunity to bring world leading oscillator technology to market. Esterline's technology is a true extension to ACT's already comprehensive oscillator portfolio, and we are proud to extend this to our Pan-European customers."
John Esterline, Chief Executive Officer, Esterline, added, "We are at the forefront of technological development with our custom TCXO and OCXO products and therefore it was important we partnered with a supplier with the expertise to enable customers to take full advantage of our capabilities. Essential to our offer in Europe is ACT's customer-lead approach and expertise in supporting complex design challenges. ACT are unique in their proposition and we are confident their team will be a real asset to the customers who will benefit from our technology."
